Original Character Profile
Full Name: Tatem Guenevere Robinson
Alias: Tate/ Tate Robin
Weapons: Sword, and two pistols. (at all times.)
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 125
Eye Color: Green with a Carmel colored center
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Occupation: Pirate
Affiliation:Jack's Crew
Quirks:
Tate always has a sarcastic comment to everything, even when shes not trying to be funny. Her thought process is a little wonky, but it works out for the better in the end. She's got unusual speech for an english woman, and her quote of her life is: "If you want something, steal it."
Appearance:
5'10, athletic build, green eyes with a slight hint of Carmel in the middle, curly dark brown hair, heart shaped face, full lips, and large almond shaped eyes. Usually in mens pirate apparel.
Personality:
Tate is extremely sarcastic, but in a funny way. She is extremely loyal and does fall in love easily, it's her only fault. She is also immensely independent and an intelligent woman. Tate's navigational skills match nothing to the amount of leadership qualities she possess, but since she's a woman, no one has given her the chance; she feels she'd make a perfect Captain, and one of the Brethern Court, and she hopes to prove herself to them. Tate can be serious sometimes, but doesn't pull it off well, mostly she's silly but with that hint of intellect, and she knows when it's time for play, and when it's time to work.
Pro's:
Excellent sparring partner. Fantastic with swords. Great navigational skills, leadership qualities.
Cons:
Falls in love easily, distrusts everyone, can be extremely ruthless, feels little pity or emotion in the line of battle, has an odd obsession with stealing shiny things.
History:
Tatem Robinson was born to Marcus and Eileen Robinson. She had a younger brother named Patrick. Born in London, England, Tate lived a happy normal life. She was heir to an island that her parents owned, and she was very wealthy. Tragedy struck the year Tatem turned eight. Britain had broken out into war, and her father was drafted into the service. London was not a safe place. There were kidnappings and killing almost everyday, and when rumors of bombings sprouted, Eileen figured her two darling children were not safe. She stowed them away on a ship called the "Anamarie." For 3 months they snuck around the ship, not getting caught until Patrick was caught sneaking food from one of the kitchens. They were cast aboard, and were forced to tread water. Tatem and Patrick swam for a long time until they found a small jamacian island called Port Royal. While in Port Royal, Patrick heard about a ship that carried pirates. Patrick heard that they were looking for a crew, and Patrick suggested they try, Tate, who couldn't possibly be accepted onto a pirate ship, she dressed in men's apparel and went by the name of Todd. The pirates accepted both her and Patrick after a strenious time trying to prove themselves.
They worked in their service for a year. One fateful day, the crew got into a fight with a fellow pirating crew. There was gun fire everywhere, Tatem had obtained a pistol while she was aboard, and she was too busy shooting the men who were trying to come aboard. She heard a familiar cry and tore her eyes to the back of the ship, where, her brother, only 15 at the time, lay dying, a sword shot through his heart. Tatem was broken; she shot the offending pirate who did it, and retreated below deck until the fight was over. The crew cast her brother on the sea, condemning him to Davy Jones locker. For a few more months she sailed with the crew, trying to forget the memory of her brother. As the ship docked back in Port Royal, Tate stayed there for quite awhile, she abandoned her crew, and lived the low down pirate life. She was a young 18 year old, Tate resumed her identity as a woman, becoming the only other known pirate woman in Port Royal since Elizabeth Swan. Fiesty and beautiful, she was in constant bar fights and the center of attention in Port Royal. She became a well known and feared figure in Port Royal, and all the pirates learned to be afraid of the woman. As she turned 19, she met a woman, She had fiery red hair and she was aboard the ship Captained by A man named Hector Barbossa. Her name no one knew, but Tate quickly came to know her as Red; she started out as a captains harlot and quickly became his right hand on the ship, being able to cook, and stock the canons. Red, who was kind of the captains mate, took a special interest in Tate, and for months Red refused to move on until the captain gave Tate a chance to be on board. Captain Barbossa was left with an ultimatium. He left Red and Tate both there. Red wouldn't put up with it though, they sneaked aboard the ship the night Captain Barbossa set sail. The only man that knew about them two was Grapple, who grew a close realtionship with Tate, and since Red was allegedly left at Port Royal, Grapple became even closer to Captain Barbossa. One night, two of his crewmen discovered both Tate and Red, and Captain Barbossa was livid. He was about to maroon them when Grapple stepped in, speaking on behalf of the two women. The crew debated, and finally, grudgingly, Captain Barbossa made an expection and decided to give Tate a chance. Captain Barbossa set very hard missions for Tate, and had her sparr against his best men. When Tate had proven herself, and had taken over for the navigator they had lost, Tate was officially part of the crew. Tate was an excellent, almost scarily good navigator, and for once, the captain was pleased with her. Tate, on the other hand, began to wish for a much different crew life.
While she had been in Port Royal, she had heard stories of a man, a pirate; Captain Jack Sparrow. The man's stories always intrigued Tate, and she hoped one day to meet with him, to sail with him. She needed badly to find the island her parents owned, to see if they were alive. There was also a very large amount of gold hidden in the island and below it, and with that has her leverage, she figured she could get Captain Jack to agree.
One night as they were docked in Tortuga, Grapple overhead Tate speaking of her ambition to meet Jack Sparrow, her was livid, and he told Captain Barbossa. The next day as they sailed away from the island, Barbossa told Tate, 600 miles away from Tortuga, that she would be marooned. He left her her sword, a pistol and one bottle of rum as he pushed her off deck.
Tate treaded water for a day and a half before a fishing boat found the exhausted pirate and rescued her. He dropped her off at Tortuga, as Tate stayed in the village she began to hear the same stories of Jack, and she learned he visited this place quite often, all Tate had to do was stay around and she would finally get to meet the man she strives so hard to find.
{Little update: Tate met Elizabeth Swann when the crew had traveled to World's End, and when they went to China, Tate made herself very good mates with Mistress Chang. After the Shipwreck cove incident, in which Elizabeth Swann was made Pirate King and after the battle, Mistress Chang went to Tate, denouncing herself as Pirate lord and handing over the reigns to Tate. Tate is now a Pirate Lord, in charge of the Gulf. (the very one Jack needs to sail to get to the Fountain of Youth. Tate knows where it is, but she's keeping it a secret.)}
Sample Post:
After setting foot on Port Royal's beach she expected for some bloody solider boy to start giving her trouble, though, as it turned out none seemed to be on guard, Tate found herself making way to a nearby bar, she needed a drink. The sun was close to setting. Tate reached the dock, smiling softly at the street merchants, her hazel eyes scanning over the various items they had. As something glittery caught her eye, she stopped. Her head cricked up to the old woman who was selling things, she didn't notice her just yet. Tate fingered the jeweled ring before grabbing it up quickly, slipping it into her pocket. She started walking a again, a wide smile on her face.
Entering the town itself, she figured she had but a half an hour before the sun would set, and all the blotto men would be littering the streets. She turned-about and saw the horizon to her right, seeing a few hempen's halter in the distance, she shuddered, rubbing her neck as if to imagine what it would feel like to be hanging by it, she turned around again, her eyes adverted from the sight. Grabbing a full bottle of rum from her overcoat, she took a long drink. The sun was just beginning to set, and it cast a golden glow all over the village. She knew Port Royal like the back of her hand and as she turned down an alley street to get to the only pirate bar around. Hearing the familiar music, she grinned. Many pirates knew her name, and she wondered if they'd be surprised to see her here. After all she had been marooned and left for dead but 10 months ago.
The sun had set when Tate reached the proper street, though she didn't enter the bar just yet. Tate had enough sense to not enter an open street all bimbley like...at least not in Port Royal, especially one known for its piracy.
Tate peeked around the corner, she saw the bar up in the distance, it was alive with music and drinking. Her eyes adverted to the other side of the street, and she saw a few of the kings guards standing at the far side, she raised an eyebrow. There were but two of them, though she had no idea why they were there. Tate decided to find out why.
She skipped over a couple of streets, watching her footwork, though she was much better on a ship, it would have to do. As she walked by the two men, they stopped her, explaining that she would be arrested if she failed to appeal to them. Tate gave a short, but mocking laugh, she nodded as if to appease them, then quickly slammed her knee into the first solider. She threw him into the second one, grabbing the mans sword all in one movement. As she held the hilt of the sword to the mans throat, she tilted her head to the side.
"Aye see we can come ter an agreement, eh?"
Tate made the two soldiers speak nothing of the encounter, and she also made them make sure no other soldiers would come by and ruin the pirates night. When they had come to an accord, she nodded, making it absolutely clear she would kill them if they failed her, she turned on her heel, now heading to the bar. It had been a good two hours after the sunrise when she reached the bar. She threw open the door, and many pirates turned to look at her. Many greeted her heartily, and she was presented with a free drink. Raising it high, she grinned, her voice booming over the music.
"Let us drink, and sing, and be merry...the bloody solider boys shall not bother us tonight!"
Tate gave a huge grin to the crowd of rowdy pirates, and as they broke into a shanty, she grinned, beginning to sing along with them, she moved to a large wooden table, and she sat upon it, drinking a large amount of rum from her mug.
