She is known to be haughty and arrogant, with a Cheshire cat grin. She is known to have a way of carrying herself with poise and grace that makes it nearly impossible for one to believe that she is a pirate. She never adapted pirate slang, and still talks with proper English.
Appearance:
Described as petite with thoroughbred legs, Helena is really something to look at. Topping out at five foot two inches, five foot six inches with her boots on, Helena really is petite. She is thin, but not thin enough for her ribs to be seen, her body slightly muscled but not enough for her to look silly in a dress. Her skin is tanned for years under the sun, her entire form permanently smelling of salt and sea air. Her hair is a dark, raven black, bleached with chocolate sections from the sun and lapping to the middle of her back in silky curls. Her eyes are a deep, grey, blue, lined with thick, black eyelashes that make them stand out defiantly against her face.
Her height and lack there of is made up mostly of long, lean legs, and a short torso. Her usual apparel is a white shirt with a black vest over it, a pair of skin tight breeches, and high-heeled black boots that rise up to her knees, paired with a black over coat, usually unbuttoned, that falls to about her midthigh. Around her waist she wears a brown leather weapon belt that carries a sword and a pistol; in her boot she carries a dagger. Her jewelry is simple, consisting only of a emerald and silver ring and a silver cross that belonged to her mother.
She has a brand on the inside of her right wrist from a run in with the East India Trading Company and a Sparrow tattoo on the top of her hipbone.
Personality:
Helena is a silent worker. She works in subtle ways to get the things that she desires most. Whereas most people will barge through and claim, Helena will scheme and use her wits and cunning to bring about the change that will suit her needs.
She can be deemed as cold and unfeeling but there is a deeper sense to the outlier. One must dig deeper then face value to see the true colors, no matter what shade they are. Few have recognized her true beauty held within the dark depths. Accepting of anything with a dark nature Helena embraces the ways of battle and death like someone familiar with its intricate designs. She is controlled in how she shows people her true workings, choosing only to reveal them to those that are truly worthy.
Helena doesn't do anything by half. If she embarks on a challenge, she will do whatever it takes to accomplish it.. If she loves, she loves with her whole being.. if she hates, then the worse death is reserved for that being. She is a truly valuable asset to a fighting force becoming indifferent to life and death.
However, despite her driven nature, she has a tendency to let her own arrogance that runs so rampant in her family get in her way. Because of this, she can also be very vain and insubordinate, which can get her in trouble. She has the tendency to be stubborn as a mule and is unwilling to listen to others, even if she knows they’re right.
Helena is a relatively friendly person, providing you haven’t put her in a foul mood. An easy way to get her angry at you, for starters, is to try something on those she considers herself particularly close to, or on women. She’s been known to beat men twice her size to a pulp for smacking women around, and chances are she’ll kill you if she’s found out you’ve raped a girl. Another way to irritate her is to skip out on doing your work, though that gets a considerably less violent reaction out of her.
She takes criticism well and believes in listening to other’s opinions, as long as they contain nothing untrue or full of gossip. Usually, she’s carefree and likes to joke and tease with her friends, providing things are going well and everyone, including herself, is being productive. She isn’t always the most patient of people and prefers to be working with her hands rather than standing around, so she’ll contribute to her fair amount of chores, and won’t hesitate to help out when someone’s in a pinch.
Though Helena isn’t the smartest woman alive, she certainly isn’t stupid.
Pro's:
She’s a talented violin, cello, and piano player. She also speaks fluent French and Spanish. She is extremely intelligent and street smart.
Cons:
Her quick temper and sharp mouth can get her in trouble.
History:
Helena’s mother Amber was really something. Smart, brave and pretty. When she was fifteen she was brought over from England to the Caribbean. She was raised in England and was on her way to live with her parents. Exactly like Elizabeth, who only twelve when she came to Port Royal."
Her boat was ‘safely’ protected by the Royal Navy. But her mother’s ship was entered by pirates and she was captured. The pirates didn’t rape her, but they wanted to. The captain didn’t mind so much, but the first mate did. In his opinion, Amber was still a child. Luckily, he was very popular with the crew and he did a lot of talking.
In the end, they played cards for her. The winner got the girl. Her father, the first mate, won. He was a very good card player, but...he cheated anyway. He had to. It was too great a risk to lose. But the captain caught him cheating and was furious. Luckily, for old times sake, he only marooned her dad and mom on the next island, instead of killing them. Unlike his brother Jack would have, her dad didn’t try anything on the island. But, luckily, that island was inhabited.
Jonathan didn’t touch her until she wanted him to. When they finally reached a town, John wanted to get rid of the girl, so to speak, get her back to her parents. But she refused to leave him. He didn’t argue much in that matter. Soon, they were married and two years later, her dad had his own ship and crew and cruised the Caribbean again. Back to being a pirate for old John and Amber was with him. Until the end, she never left his side.
Helena was born on a ship and grew up there, have a rather adventurous life for a child. It was terrific. But as we all know, every journey has to come to an end. The navy hanged Helena’s father when she was only eight and her mother committed suicide soon after.
Helena was never a pretty child, she took time to grow into her features. She was rather unattractive, with a far too long nose, big ears, large eyes, and a mouth that was far too big for her face. But by the time she was sixteen, she had turned into a beautiful young woman.
Helena acquired her own ship, The Poison Storm a very coveted boat, at the age of 17. The ship was powerful for it’s shape and build, bluff above the water and sharp below, with five foot hulls of solid oak. She began sailing the Caribbean with a devoted crew for three years before brushing with the East India Company.
She was branded and was kept in the cells until she was able to get a guard’s keys and escape. Her crew had been keeping close eyes on The Poison Storm and she was able to begin sailing quickly after. She made a name for herself amongst the waters, until she had joined up with several other captains after boarding their ship and defeating them, and now she commands close to seven ships, including The Emerald, The Black Diamond, The Wave’s Mistress, and several others.

Ah, the sights, the smells, the lights! It was at that moment that Helena Sparrow knew she was back in Tortuga. As she strode down the street, she was passed by a crowed of drunken men, half walking and half carrying each other, heard a wench calling to them from the street corners, allowed the dreary lights to dance on her form. It was rather ironic that such a classy individual called a place like Tortuga a second home. But, Helena Sparrow was not as classy as her perfect poise and proper grammar gave her out to be. Oh no, Helena was a pirate to the soul. Not as cold-blooded and dark as the rest of them but pretty d**n near close.
But she was different than most pirates. Her haughty attitude and catty smirk earned her the sarcastic nickname of 'The Pirate Princess' from her superiors and seniors.
She was also a bit of a dandy, very concerned with her appearance and personal hygiene. This was quite apparent in the way she was dressed this evening. She was clothed in a blood red button up with a tight, black vest over the top of it that accented her femininely curves, and her long legs were covered with tight, black pants. Her height was increased by four inches by the heels of her black boots, which reached just below her knees. Her hair was down, falling in its natural waves around her body and catching the dim light in its silky ravens and chocolates. And she walked as if she was on a mission, with purpose instead of her normal, gliding gate.
And, as a matter of fact, she was.
This evening, Captain Sparrow was having a horrid craving for the burn of a good brandy as it slithered down her throat; she had even made a side trip to Tortuga to satisfy this hunger. Of course, as any decent pirate should, she had a stockhold of rum on The Poison Storm, but rum had stopped appeasing her years ago. Ah, d**n that Sparrow gene of alcoholism.
She slipped into a tavern, and sat at the bar, ordering a brandy. When it was sat before her, she grasped it and turned in her stool to look around the pub. Drunken captains, sleepers sitting on their laps and drugging them even more. The sad thing was that most of those men were probably her captains. She sighed, taking a deep, long sip of her brandy then looked towards the bar once more.
